Myrtlye, Arran Dog Bakery's reason for being

Who we are

We are a small, family run business based on the West of Scotland. In 2017 we became very aware of all the additives that are put in a lot of the big brand treats because our family Labrador, Myrtle, had a very sensitive stomach.  Stacey decided that she wanted to create treats that Myrtle could enjoy too, by using only natural, wholesome ingredients, and so Arran Dog Bakery was born!

In 2019, Elaine (Stacey’s Niece) and her husband Sam, who live just across the water in Stewarton, joined the company to help build on the success that Stacey had created.

LOVINGLY HANDMADE

We pride ourselves in making all our natural dog biscuits by our own fair hands. These are then quality tested by our own lovely pups to make sure they make the grade! A job they take very seriously...

Ethically Sourced

We ensure that the products we use are ethically sourced.  We do not use products containing palm oil, and when seasonally available, we use as much local produce as possible, such as apples from Glen Rosa in our Peanut Butter & Apple biscuits.

We use as much sustainable and recyclable packaging as we possibly can. Our biscuit pouches are made from recyclable materials and they can also be recycled.

NO ADDITIVES OR PRESERVATIVES

We only use natural ingredients for our handmade dog treats, with no added nasties. We feel our four pawed family members deserve the absolute best, and that is why we wanted to make wholesome, tasty dog treats with just simple, clean ingredients.

Legal Mumbo Jumbo

We are registered and compliant with Trading Standards and Food Standards Scotland.

All our biscuits undergo nutritional analysis.

Grant FundinG

Thanks to a grant from the Ayrshire Rural & Islands Ambition Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government we have been able to upgrade some of our equipment to help make us more energy efficient and continue to grow in an sustainable way.
